The Climbing Routes You may use all the holds to climb the wall, or you may choose to climb one of our many marked routes. The routes are marked with colored tape. Simply use only the holds that are marked and unless specified otherwise, you may also use features of the climbing wall and surface such as aretes, ledges, edges, and dihedrals. We have routes in all ranges of difficulty from very easy (<5.9 or V0) to very difficult (<5.13 or V11) Route setters choreograph climbing moves and sequences by installing carefully selected hand and foot holds on the wall at specific angles and placements. All of our certified route setters are experienced climbers and have been trained in the methods of route setting. At any given time we may have well over a hundred routes at each gym. New routes are added almost daily! To help you look through the abundance of routes we have an online route guide which also includes topographical maps to help you find them! Here are the ten newest routes for Toprope, Lead, and Bouldering routes at each of the Planet Rock gyms.
